Mary Portas and my shopping experience

Have a B'Day coming up this week and darlin' hubby took me shopping in London on Sunday.  Walked out of lift at House of Fraser on Oxford Street and saw a beacon of light and colour down the corridor with people to say Hi at the entrance.  Found it was Mary's place and boy was it the best shopping experience I've had in a while.  Firstly there was choice of styles and colours for real women and the styles were all a good cut, so a Size 16 was really a Size 16 and not a 14.  Then I found myself having a chuckle as signs on the Sale Rails said "Although it pains me, here it is 50% off" - exactly what lots of you will have heard me say at Ethna Golf!  Then I found myself with about 10 garments to try on and do you know what, there wasn't a black garment to be seen!  Vibrants oranges/purples/blues - a real WOW. 

And then here was that lovely man featured on the TV show having a great chat with us and even engaged hubby,who really really doesn't like shopping (and is coming to Moda Trade Fair with me next Sunday too - that's at least 8 hours) and then a lovely woman on the till who talked to me about my business and was genuinely interested.  No pressure, just honest to goodness great customer focus.

So all in all what you see on the TV about Mary and her team, I can honestly say I had first hand so am hoping that all of our lovely customers at Ethna Golf, experience the same customer focus when you come across us.  Let us know what you think.

Showroom success

Had a lovely day yesterday with customers coming around to the Showroom to see the new collections.  Great feedback and great fun too!  No scones from Pauline as we have decided that we need to be able to model the outfits when we are out and about and the scones won't help the waistlines.  However, if you would like to come around and are partial to homemade scones, let us know and we are only dying to have an excuse!

Summer Sale Events

We had a lovely new event yesterday with Craig Sutherland, Director of Golf at Cherry Lodge Golf Club in Biggin Hill, Kent www.cherrylodgegc.co.uk/index2.html.   We were made feel very welcome by the lady members of Cherry Lodge and also the whole team there and met lots of great new customers from all over Kent and Surrey.  It was their Ladies Team Open event and it was really nice to see how many ladies attended and appeared to be very relaxed and enjoying the hospitality of Cherry Lodge.  They also enjoyed excellent retail therapy with us and we had lots of good comments about the choice and range of collections available.

For Abacus fans - Preview the Autumn/Winter 2011 collections

Every season we add beautiful golf and leisurewear to our collections and the choice is huge.  However it is not possible to stock every style and colour all at once and I know a great number of our customers like to see what is available across a particular brand.  This is especially so with Abacus and one of the things they do well is produce a great workbook each season. 

If you would like a preview at the start of each season, please contact us either by email ethna@ethnagolf.com or 01276 61248 and we will email you the Abacus Workbook.  If you like something that we don't currently stock, we can order for you.  The Autumn/Winter 2011 Workbook is now available and the collection will be arriving early September.
